Chilewich floor mats, runners, accent tables and table runners available online at Sportique.Chilewich was originally founded by the New York based designer Sandy Chilewich, the co founder of HUE. Sandy also created the highly successful RayBowl™. While she was searching for materials for RayBowl she fell in love with the textiles that she would later use for Chilewich. Chilewich has reinterpreted underutilized and overlooked manufacturing practices and designed innovative textiles for many uses. In 2000 Sandy launched her clean and modern placemats and floor mats with her original signature textiles. These placemats can be seen in restaurants around the world. Sandy and Joe Sultan, her husband, teamed up in 2004 and changed the company same to Chilewich | Sultan LLC, a name to reflect them both. Joe Sultan was originally an architect with his own firm in New York City,  his fate lay with the textile industry. His father and uncles owned and operated a company based in NYC, selling tablecloths and placemats. Growing up he would help out with the family business.
