Mer-Sea

Mer-Sea was founded in Kansas when two friends, Melanie Bolin and Lina Dickinson, were inspired by the sea. Before Mer-Sea they were both successful professionals. After combining a small investment and their talents of product development and sales, they started dedicating their time to creating a gift company, Mer-Sea.

They gained inspiration from the ideas that you travel to escape, renew and restore. Both from California, they had a love for the beach and they set about to capture the essence of peace, tranquility, and happiness through scent, color and texture. They wanted to bottle a feeling and transport people with their product. They thought of the travelers, the dreamers, and the doers. They wanted their products to bring them back to when they were carefree at the beach. 

Mer-Sea begins and ends with simplicity. They trust their own instincts and only make what they would give to their close friends.

With their products, every detail matters. Mindful products and minimal packaging are at the core of their development process. Their artisan soy wax blend candles are hand-poured in the USA using fresh fragrances and packaged in beautiful locally-sewn canvas bags. The key to everything they do is in their message. Many of the products have tags with tiny bits of wisdom carefully crafted to uplift you or you loved one when it might be needed.

Why Mer-Sea? 'Mer' means 'sea' in French and together phonetically they sound how both Bolin and Dickinson feel, thankful. Merci!
